60 Day Juice Feast – Day 14

by Courtney on October 30, 2007

Well, my first lovely challenge while juice feasting was on day 1 when I was locked out of my house in the cold, and the second came tonight, at the two week mark, when I got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere in total darkness, by myself, on the way to a nearby town to get more produce to juice. What an adventure, whew. Nothing like nearly getting hit by semi trucks to add a little spice in one’s life ;) All is well, tires can be fixed and kind friends who come to the rescue can be thanked with chocolate that I’ll make but not taste :)

Today’s feast, in order of consumption:

24 oz. apple/spinach/celery juice w/ coconut water & 1/2 TBS MSM
2 TBS bee pollen
32 oz. green juice w/ lemon, cayenne, turmeric and 1 TBS spirulina
14 oz. coconut water
32 oz. green juice w/ lemon, cayenne, turmeric and 1 TBS spirulina
30 oz. kiwi/apple/dragonfruit juice w/ 1 TBS hemp oil
6 oz. reishi tea

I think I’ll take this two week mark to give a little inventory about how I’m feeling and what is going on with my body:

  • It feels amazing to feel more empty every day. And it’s not just that my colon is emptier every day, but I have the sensation that every organ is just pushing stuff out and getting emptier. What a wonderful feeling!
  • I have had bowel movements every single day, despite not having food for 2 weeks.
  • My skin is clearing up and evening out a lot.
  • I don’t necessarily notice, but people are saying that my eyes are brighter.
  • I have lost about 8 lbs since starting the juice feast.
  • I have so much more clarity – I get a lot more done during the day.
  • I have hunger occasionally when I haven’t had enough juice, but I’m not craving anything very strongly (spirulina salad is still the only thing).
  • Heightened sense of smell.
  • Increased feelings of well being and euphoria, love and lightheartedness.
  • Increased endurance when running.

Ahhhh, juice feasting! What a GIFT this is!
