The Blessing of Community

by Courtney on January 28, 2008

It has been a rare rainy last few days here in Patagonia.
It is amazing how immediatelyI am affected by the absence of sunlight – it is so incredibly rare that it is other than totally blue skies and sun.It feels like maybe one day per month that we might not have sun, although I don’t know what the official estimate is…

I’ve observed that activities that interest me on cloudy or rainy are completely different than what I want to do most of the time when it is sunny.

I almost can’t even do anything I think I should do, but rather only seem to be able to do what I want to do – interesting.

Anyways, I spent the weekend low-key: intimate gatherings with friends, hot tubbing, exercising inside, lots of reading and writing.

I’m currently reading ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins, and ‘A Woman’s Worth’ by Marianne Williamson (actually my second time reading it). Totally loving them both.

In Anthony (rawmodel)’s blog today, he responds to a reader’s inquiry about whether he gets compensated for talking about certain products in his blog. It sort of hit me that maybe my readers might wonder if I do as well, since I defintely talk about products.

Soo… in case you’re wondering, no, I don’t. I don’t compensated for any products I talk about, aside from the Activated Liquid Zeolite, which I am beginning to work with, as I believe it to be one of the most important products out there.

AND, as you all know, I talk about the Tree of Life almost all the time, but I do not in any way get compensated for anything I say about the Tree. I make reservations for people, but I do not get any commission off of any programs that people register for.

I talk about the Tree a lot, however, because it is extremely central in my life, seeing as it is not only my work, but my community, and most all my friends are part of this community.

Those of us who serve at the Tree of Life do it not for the money anyways – the monetary pay is very low – we do it because we love the vision and mission of the Tree and to us, the greatest abundance is the incredible, amazing community of people, pure and beautiful place to live, and opportunity to contribute to something of meaning.

So, for now, I am at the Tree and I love it, and I love giving all of you a glimpse into what it’s like to live in a community where everyone is into the same things, everyone walks their talk, and you are given loving space to grow and explore and ‘make mistakes’ as you need to.

In loving communion,

Courtney

I hope you get your sunshine back soon, I miss it too when it´s gone for days. And I wish someday I might get to go to Tree of life and live that experience too.

All the best!

I know exactly what you mean about the sun. When I wake up to a gloomy day, I just want to hibernate, curl up with a book, a journal and a pen, or a good video. My daughters call them movie days. I don’t mind a day or two, but too many days w/o the sun and I really get the blues.

I am glad you are doing so well on your journey. :)

Much Love!
Connie
