We definitely invested a few hours in our creations, and quite enjoyed it, but the rest of the weekend was so enjoyably low-key.
It is most definitely spring here now. Both Saturday and today, many hours were spent lazing on the huge trampoline in our big backyard, in the sun. We’re creating some great memories on this trampoline (which we recently acquired from a friend). We napped, bounced, read, wrote, talked, and ate (want to guess? Spirulina Salad).
We joked (and yet we’re completely serious) that we have no need for outside furniture as long as we have a big trampoline. You can do anything on it – subsitutes for a sundeck, deck furniture, dining table, couch… One day a bunch of us just grabbed huge pillows and laid out on it forever.
We also listened quite a bit to a new musical artist we discovered – named Adele, I particularly like her ‘Hometown Glory’ song.
It was average between 70 and 75 during the day this weekend, and, as always, sunny.
Thim and I are committed to having a balance of action and rest, work and play in our lives. We’ve been definitely doing more of the former lately, and so this weekend we basically took off.
When visiting one of our closest friends Chris, founder of Cocopura (best coconut oil ever!), this weekend, we were offered FRESH cacao beans – ones that had just been picked at a farm down in Mexico recently.
They still even had some of the flesh of the cacao fruit on the outside of them and they were SO moist! We were blown away. I’ve only known the crunchy cacao beans that fall apart into nibs. These didn’t break apart like that – they were melt in your mouth and the flavor was much deeper than any cacao I’ve had…
