At about midnight, we rolled into our previously arranged hotel, 'America's Best' or something like that, found by Expedia. Despite our exhaustion, our spirits were lifted with laughter at this hotel room, which was possibly the ugliest interior.. decorating?.. I'd ever seen. As if the fingerprinted mirror ceiling and bed comforter holey with cigarette burns wasn't awesome enough, this was the bathroom. Yes folks, those are the actual colors - no photo enhancement.
Below: This is how hilarious I thought the hotel room/bathroom was.
I didn't sleep much that night, mostly due to fear that the aliens who designed the tile were going to emerge from the bile colored abyss of America's Best suite 302 bathroom and brainwash me into their Interior Design Methods of Apocalyptic Ugliness. Actually, the room just smelled bad and I'm used to Patagonia amazing air. Nonetheless, a few hours later we embarked to the well-known Erewhon market to pick up sustenance for the day. Disneyworld for any raw food enthusiast, Erewhon is packed with likely every raw food retail product that exists. Some pictures of the goodness (including the local Patagonia company VivaPura!):

Next off to the L.A. Conference Center, where we set up our booth. Other booths were mostly metaphysical products, clothing, and books. There were a few raw food companies there, too.
Aviva went down to this golden tent thing with astroturf (gotta love human creativity) to watch a few speakers, including Masaru Emoto, Don Miguel Ruiz and Mantak Chia, and to watch the Luminaries perform.

I slept a better that night despite massive amounts of sugar circulating in my body from dinner, and then woke up and went to Erewhon again. And since as long as you're on a roll, why not go faster and harder, we bought more sugar and ate it for breakfast. This sugar was named Tomberlies Mint Fudge Swirl Raw Vegan Ice Cream. You might not be able to tell, but my face is totally puffy from the previous night's sugar. Lovely :)
Saturday was a busier day at the booth, and when it all shut down for the night, we attended a raw food party, where I stayed up far past my Patagonia bed time, and then we all slept at a friend's house nearby. No more alien hotel. Good stuff.
The next morning our friend woke us up to some awesome chocolate chia pudding with goji berries and pomegranate and we ate it outside in the morning weather that I imagine is about as good as it gets in L.A.
Then, off to our last day in the convention center. It was a partial day because we had to leave early to get back to Patagonia. 9 hours later we rolled in at 2am, and I tell you what, I am sooooooooo happy to be back. Next, a posting on more deep reflections on my experience at this conference and how it compares to my life here in Patagonia.
Grateful for the countryside,Courtney
