And the LA trip continues! On Saturday, we slept in and then Heather and my friend Alex Malinsky of RawGuru.com came over and made coconut based raw ice cream for our potluck later that evening. We were grateful to stay at an amazing home in Glassel Park, sort of set back in a little canyon on a hill with a beautiful view of downtown LA. We relaxed outside, intermittently taste-tested the progress of Heather and Alex's ice cream, and I enjoyed the feeling of the air with just the right amount of humidity.

That evening, we embarked to my good friend Puki's house, where we hosted a raw potluck that brought together new and old friends alike. Delicious food, of course, but more importantly, community, laughing, conversing and supporting. Attendees with online presence in the space of health and holistic lifestyle, in addition to Heather and Alex included Debbie Young, Gina LaVerde, Perkunas Cornejo, Chrissy Antia, and Sarah Brown.
Sunday, we visited Asher Brown's vegan film studio, Pollution Studios. Asher is Sarah's very talented brother - hit him up for film projects in LA! Afterwards, off to Juliano's Raw in Santa Monica. I had the taco salad, which was very good, and their mint chocolate milkshake - also amazing.
After Juliano's we walked around the nearby, new Santa Monica mall. Malls are such an odd place to me. So much stuff all in one place. Five women, and nothing bought. Impressive.
Next, we stopped by a new place called Kind Kreme - get this - a raw vegan ice cream and soft serve ice cream parlor. Wow, delish! I felt like their ice cream was right up to par with Pure Food and Wine. Check it ooooowwwwttt! Then, off to Puki's house again to make coconut macaroons for the drive back to Patagonia, and to soak in her non-chlorinated hot tub enjoying coconut smoothies made by Puki and Heather.
LA trip commenced, and back to the land of cacti and sun we went! Home sweet home!
