by Courtney on October 23, 2007

Today’s Feast, in order of consumption:

16 oz. green juice w/ cayenne
30 oz. carrot/apple juice w/ 1 TBS MSM
32 oz. green juice w/ cayenne & turmeric & 1/2 TBS MSM
1 TBS bee pollen
14 oz. coconut water
16 oz. green juice w/ cayenne & turmeric
28 oz. orange juice w/ 1 TBS hemp oil

Mmm, I feel good today! And WOW, do all your emotions come up when you’re doing something so transformational as this feast! I really can’t hide from anything I feel today. Very good, very good, because I am transforming so much already!

Here’s a question from a blog reader that I’d be happy to answer!

Hi,
I’m exploring raw foods, but I’ve been vegan for almost 10 years. Anyway, this summer I got into taking enemas every couple of days. I feel fine so I doubt its hurting me. But I was just wondering what you heard about them? since you take them everyday.(I’m sorry if I’m being too personal)

Thanks for the question, Carrie! No worries about being to personal, we should all be talking about this kind of thing more often :) Kudos to you for your new exploration into raw foods! I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on enemas, but I’ll definitely share what I understand to be true. It seems that for people who are fasting or feasting, up to two enemas per day is just fine, and one is pretty much mandatory. This is what we have every single faster do who comes to the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center. Gabriel Cousens, MD, the founder and main physician of the center, has designed it that way. We also find that when doing such a cleansing program, it is really important to do regular enemas. They maximize the elimination of waste matter in the colon and aid in whole body detoxification. To not do enemas in these situations places us in danger of cleansing reactions of backed up toxins, and makes the overall cleanse less effective. I’ve done fasts where I haven’t done any enemas or colonics, and very little waste matter comes out compared to when I do them. Thus, I highly recommend enemas, especially if one is doing a cleansing program.

I hope that helps!

Juicily yours,

Courtney
