This morning we did my fasting blood sugar again and it came up as 85 – very normal and perfectly healthy. Interesting that it dropped that much in one day – we’ll see how it looks tomorrow.
A few questions from readers:
Most of the turmeric I use is the powdered kind, although I do have some fresh turmeric root as well. I am sure there are benefits to making fresh turmeric juice, but it is such a powerful substance that I have no doubt the powder is highly effective, so long as it is a quality source of turmeric.
Have you been doing any cacao drinks?
No, it is best to stay away from the cacao during the juice feast. Although it has great properties, it is too hard on the adrenals to be taking during a juice feast and can be very imbalancing. Most of us have experienced a bit of a high from raw cacao, and perhaps even some spaciness. During a juice feast, you are extra sensitive to everything and cacao would just be too much – besides, it is not necessary. Believe me, I am the biggest raw chocolate fan ever and I ate it nearly every day, but it definitely feels right to wait until the juice feast is over to be taking it in.
And today I’ve started the part of the Juice Feasting program where I drink daily Chanca Piedra, or Break-Stone Tea. I have the loose leaf tea, although you can use a tincture as well. This is used to dissolve and break up kidney, liver and gall stones. I’ll drink about 2 cups per day for the next thirty or so days.
