Happy 2010!

My 2010 has been great so far, yours too? New Year’s Eve for me was participation in an inipi sweat lodge at the Tree of Life, led by Parashakti and a man named Alberto, who is an indiginous native american medicine man from Mexico. It was a really powerful lodge that felt very joyful and celebratory.

New Year’s day Parashakti led one of her Dances of Liberation. I had done one previously, about 2.5 years ago, and really loved the experience. The dynamic of everyone being blindfolded really changes the freedom with which people dance, and is, appropriately, liberating. That one was very packed for the room size, with about 80 participants. It felt like a bunch of tribal wild people. This one was much smaller and felt much more chilled out in the collective expression.

That evening, I attended a housewarming party of some friends of mine. She made her signature raw apple pie, which really did taste like apple pie. Quite impressive.
