Recipe: Herbed Walnut Pate

Our cafe chef Elliot prepared a wonderful simple but delicious nut pate this week. You can eat your pate with raw crackers or cut vegetables! Our cilantro is garden-grown here at the Tree of Life, and if you can grow your own or get it locally, it will taste so much more fresh!

Ingredients:

5 C Walnut

1/4 C Apple Cider Vinegar,

1/2 tsp Salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 head cilantro

3 sticks celery

1. Process 3 C walnuts, 1.5 sticks celery, all of the remaining ingredients, and about 1/2 – 1 C water depending on preferred consistency.

2. Chop the remaining 2 C walnuts and 1.5 sticks celery. Mix with processed pate in a bowl for some texture.

3. For some extra nutrition and color, add about 1 C soaked seaweed like whole dulse, arame, or hijiki.

4. Sit in a comfortable, quiet place, breathe deeply and enjoy fully!
