Day 60 Juice Feast

by Courtney on December 16, 2007

AAAAAAAAAH DAY 60!! So I decided today that 60 feels good to me, and I’m actually looking forward to eating again. It’s gone so fast and so slow at the same time… funny how that is. I’m just so pumped to have experienced such a marvelous tool for cleansing and healing that is so easy, enjoyable, and fun!

Today I had some green juice and a lot of watermelon juice, I was sort of all over the place today so I didn’t record the exact amounts, but oh was it YUMMY!

A few questions from readers:

Hey Courtney…quick questions..Do you take Vitamineral green? I do and like it a lot, but i remember you mentioning the product Earth as well. Are these 2 meant to be taken together? I mean, not at the same time but in the same day? Also, do you know anything about Oxy-Mag? Love ya Courtney!!

Hi Michelle, I don’t take Vitamineral regularly, I tend to switch up my green powders all the time, but I love Vitamineral. Earth is also by Healthforce Nutrition, but they are different products altogether with different purposes. Jameth Sheridan, of Healthforce Nutritionals, said at Raw Spirit that these two products could be taken together and practically lived off of – they combine really well. I love both products, but they aren’t substitutes for eachother.

I have never taken Oxy-Mag personally so I don’t know what it’s really like, but if I ever do, be sure to know that I’ll post a little review on it!

Hi Courtney
Another question for you. What do you think about the birth control pill? I am interested in doing the Global Juice Feast and am thinking of getting off the pill around that time. Taking the pill is just starting to feel unnatural and almost going against the detoxifying and purifying that raw food and juice feasting brings up towards. What are you thoughts?

Hi there, great question, one that a lot of women are probably wondering! It would be a great thing to be able to cleanse your body with a juice feast from the effects of the pill. Just on intuition, it seems like it might be a good idea to come off of it even a little before the juice feast, so that you don’t have to be taking on both the cleansing effects of the juice feast (although if you’re doing it right you shouldn’t have too many intense detox symptoms), and any detox that may come from getting off the pill.

I doubt the pill is really the best thing for our health, but then again, you have to do what you have to do and staying protectd is the most important. I’d encourage you to look into other alternative methods, as there are some good ones out there and some great combinations of different methods.

I’m sorry, you may have answered this question before, but I just found your blog and am very intrigued by your juice feast. I think it’s absolutely incredible! My question is why do you put the greens in a vitamix and not through your juicer? Do you then strain the greens?

Thank you,
