Revisitations of the Delish

We have, as of today, been visited once again by the Organic Thai Coconut Gods.
Indeed. Another huge truckload. Thing is, I’m still tired of so many coconuts from the last round, that I’m only sort of drawn to them this time…. I am definitely not ready for more coconut kefir, that’s for sure.

Not just coconuts this time, but an assortment of other fruit, as you can see from the picture above that I snagged from Frank.

Ahh, I just finished a little bit of smoothie that Thim and I made, soooo good. We make them most nights, although as time goes on I am eating less of them overall. They generally consist of:

Base of water
A little bit of (we never really measure, its sort of hard to really mess it up):
Cacao powder
Cacao nibs
Mesquite powder
Lucuma powder
Carob powder
Chia seeds
Peppermint stevia
Vanilla Creme stevia
Cacao butter
Vanilla Powder
Soaked Gogis
Salt
Cayenne

Yum. These days I only drink maybe 3/4 or a cup of this smoothie, whereas I used to drink a ton, but oh its so good

I’m not a fan of the regular stevia, but some of these other ones are really nice to add a little to smoothies, especially since Thim and I are body types that thrive most on a fairly low sugar diet.

We have begun a liver cleanse. The standard protocol many people go with is the olive oil flush. This works for most people, but the Tree of Life has learned of a number of people whose systems just can’t take this kind of shocking, all-at-once flush to get stones out, and have had serious complications as a result of it, including hospitalization and even emergency surgeries.

Although these are extremely rare cases, Thim and I have decided to modify the long term liver cleanse plan Dr. Cousens advises, to dissolvethe stones over a long period of time rather than shocking the body into releasing the stones all at once.Besides, I think my body, which is one not keen on fat, would be quite taxed having to take in all that olive oil at once.

A big part of the protocol we’ll be doing is break-stone tea, or chanca piedra, along with several other supplements as well. We started the break-stone tea today, and I’ll get the other supplements Monday – then I’ll tell you which they are.

We plan to do this protocol for 2-3 months, dissolving the stones over time in a way that is much more gentle on the body.

I’ll let you know how it all goes!

My good friend Frank has been doing a great little experiment on himself – he is a fan of the 80/10/10 diet, which he totally seems to thrive on. He is an incredibly active person and so the sugars seem to be great fuel for his body type.

After bestowing a fit of laughter one day last week when he told me he ate over 40 dates in a day (which would probably make me croak to do that, I don’t even remember the last time I had a date), I challenged him to a week on ‘Phase 1’.

If you’re not familiar, ‘Phase 1′ is Dr. Cousens’ term for a complely sugar free raw food diet. Today was his last day on it. I won’t give you the juicy details on how this experiment went for him, hopefully he’ll write about it in his blog.

Ahh, I’m sitting in a nice organized, clean house and it feels soo good. I have been, lately, really prioritizing organization and cleanliness, as I really feel it makes a critical difference in affecting ever area of our lives.

While I’m not a feng shui or vastu expert, I think it is undeniable that the energy of our surroundings can either support us, or it can be a force that we’re tripping over as we’re trying to live a harmonious life. It really matters.

And to leave you with a great quote,

My karma ran over your dogma,”

Courtney
